Basic Native Farming

Melki Build Kft was established in 2020 with the purpose of trying to achieve new innovative solutions with using my 21 year experience. According to the global circumstances of our current situation, its undisputable facts, my knowledge and expertise, the most serious impact is due toenergy utilisation related cycles, which exert an impact on each area. Practically the ecological equilibrium of human settlements and environments has collapsed by our days.

The city-village settlement regime hasbeen not able to establish those conditions that are required by the developing human society in respect of its artificial environment already for a long time. The result of this process is the changing of the climate, the lack of water and the decreasing of the biodiversity.

These problems become interrelated during the everydays and it is worthwhile to deal with each of these areas simultaneously.We have to undertake responsibilityin this regard. After accepting the facts we have to look for a solution, since the climate crisis is an environmental emergency that spreads at such a fast rate that exerts a significant influence on humanlives, on the next generations.

Each of us has to take his/her share of the tasks we face if we wish to find really useable solutions for these global phenomena.Less agricultural area will be needed for producing the same quantity of useful food products if we drastically reduce food wasting. The areas released this way offer an opportunity for retaining and restoring biodiversity, for ecosystem based services. All this facilitates climate adaptation and supports the health and lifespan of our planet. We have been thinking in the frameworks of renewable resources.

Our questions were the following:

• How is it possible to match nutrition with the“green wall”?
• How is it possible to match bees, biodiversity with the establishment of the “green wall”?
• How is it possible to sustain the food system?

Tomatoes: They contain different phyto-chemicals, ase.g. C and A vitamins, lycopene, trace elements, mineral salts, flavonoids, sugar.
Species used:Tomatoes: „Vilma”, „Balkonstar”. Cocktail type, compact growth, directly for balconies.

Beans: Their nutrition value is high, their seeds do contain in addition to 40-50% starch outstandingly high ratio – 22-35% – of proteins(legumin) and their high nutritive value may be primarily attributed to sulphur and phosphorus containing materials that are rich in nitrogen, due to which they may be used equally as human and animal feed. The protein content of dry beans is tenfold that of potatoes, threefold that of bread, nevertheless, its mineral material content is also high.
Species used: Beans: „Maxidor”, „Capitano”. Medium sized plants will develop, with long green and yellow crops. Their growing time is 40 days, meaning that they are short term plant cultures. The „Carmen”, „Carioca” species are also bush beans, nevertheless they are shelled bean types. Their growing time is 60-80 days, they have large claret roundish seeds, and the shell of the „Carioca” species is also coloured.

Peas: They contain B1, B2, and C vitamins (20 mg/100 g). Their carbo-hydrate content is also significant. Their calorie value is close to that of potatoes, and their protein content is three times that of potatoes.
Species used: „Debrecenivilágoszöld” (Light Green of Debrecen). „Rajnaitörpekifejtő” (Elf wrinkled pea of Rhine) tender pea species, 30-40 cmhigh, with green shell, early medium ripening. „Debreceni korai velő” (Round pea of Debrecen), it may be harvested for a longer period, they are of medium height.
